How to make

Glassware

Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Prepare

Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
Prepare garnish of lemon slice wheel.

Method

Gently MUDDLE mint in base of shaker (just to bruise).
Add other ingredients and SHAKE with ice.
FINE STRAIN into glass filled with crushed ice.

Garnish

Garnish with lemon slice.
Serve with a straw.

Love the original, just made a version with a split shot of Tanqueray / Carta Blanca and lemon/lime and it was quite good! Using wild mint. Larger leaves and a pepperminty flavor.☆☆☆☆☆♡

The very first old-timey cocktail I ever tried, way back in the mid- 2010s. Return to it every few years and still find it surprisingly delicious and an improvement over a Southside. I’d like to eventually do some research to find its provenance.
