Ingredients:
1 12 oz Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old)
34 oz Cointreau triple sec liqueur
12 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
0.08 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup) optional
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lime wedge.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with lime wedge.

I also left out the sugar but kept the same proportion of lime.

I left out the sugar syrup and replaced that volume with the maraschino. Pretty good cocktail from that. I feel inclined to increase the lime, but not by much.

Great cocktail. Followed Bethany Staelens advice and left out the sugar syrup and increased the lime and maraschino. It was wonderfully tart and very enjoyable.

I loved this! I actually added more lime and more maraschino and eliminated the sugar syrup. I don't like sweet cocktails, and this made it perfect for me.

Quite sharp in these proportions if you want something a little smoother drop the lime to 20ml

I've revisited the original recipe (now above) and added an optional splash of sugar. Thanks for bringing the need to readdress to my attention.
