Serve in a Martini glass

Ingredients:
5 fresh Strawberries (hulled, small & ripe)
2 oz Ketel One Vodka
34 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
12 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
1 oz Brut champagne/sparkling wine
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Martini glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of fresh strawberry.
  3. MUDDLE strawberries in base of shaker.
  4. Add next 3 ingredients and SHAKE with ice.
  5. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  6. TOP with sparkling wine.

good idea to add strawberry syrup, thanks John! I changed a third of vodka to London Dry gin to give it a tiny herbal backbone. Nice result.

Wonderful.
Living in San Diego we can still get fresh strawberries in November.
Made one change to the recipe and substituted the sugar syrup for Gifford Fraise de Bois. Added more strawberry flavour and did not add as much sweetness.

We made a variation with blackberries and it was amazing. We’re calling it an Abandoned BlackBerry (autocorrect made it the phone brand, which we thought was great).
