Ingredients:
23 fl oz Overproof aged pot still rum (high-ester 4-6 years old)
23 fl oz Cointreau L'Unique triple sec liqueur
23 fl oz Ferrand Dry Curaçao
23 fl oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1 12 fl oz Thomas Henry Soda Water
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a DOUBLE OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of skewered lime slice wheel and Luxardo Maraschino Cherry (sail) with mint sprigs.

How to make:

  1. SHAKE first 4 ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  3. TOP with soda and briefly stir.

  1. Garnish with skewered lime slice wheel and maraschino cherry (sail) with mint sprigs bouquet.

History:

Originally made at the Good Hope Hotel in Falmouth, Jamaica. The Good Hope is an 18th Century country house set in a 2,000-acre plantation high in the lush landscape of Cockpit Country near Montego Bay.

Unexciting without the soda and very watery with the soda. Orange liqueur isn't a great base spirit.

I liked this as-is, but also felt like a bit more lime might be nice? Will have to try it again...

Read this and thought, Yeah more lime. Then I thought, Maybe less soda. Then, More rum? Now I'm thinking it's mostly the more rum.

IDK it's very OK, almost a Classic classic punch ting but a bit polite.

Used blue curacoa and Grand marinier instead, very nice balanced cocktail

This was outstanding. Great if you like rum. Did not have room in our glass for the splash of soda, but it was great without. Will do again and would recommend.
