Serve in a Martini glass

Ingredients:
4 fresh Strawberries (hulled, small & ripe)
2 12 oz Ketel One Vodka
16 oz White balsamic vinegar
12 oz Monin Strawberry Syrup (US)
× 1 1 serving
Read about cocktail measures and measuring

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Martini glass.
  2. Prepare strawberry for garnish.
  3. MUDDLE strawberries in base of shaker.
  4. Add other ingredients.
  5. SHAKE with ice.
  6. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  7. Garnish with strawberry.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created circa 2001 at Che Bar, St James's Street, London, and originally named Strawberry & Balsamic Martini. This cocktail was popular in London bars during 2002, made with sugar syrup (in place of strawberry syrup).

Ehhh. So I just did this recipe/drink 3-4 times, adjusting measures... Recipe, as is, with 10 ml each of Balsamic and the (cane) syrup, plus 5 ml lemon juice, yielded the best result. I did try a shake with saline solution, but I'd shy away from that, if I were you... Recipe above was too sweet and lacking balsamic and acidity. Curious if you can improve my shakes.

Interesting! I'm not a huge fan of imprecise ingredient measurements like "5 Strawberries (hulled, small & ripe)" as I feel like my 5 strawberries may have been a little too big as the balsamic was very light. Might need to taste this one before pouring to see if it needs a little more balsamic! Delicious, nonetheless. Great mouth feel, too. I'd say this would be a fun one for a dinner party, but that might also be a PITA since you'd have to make them one at a time...lol.
