Review:

Kirschwasser, aromatised wine and sherry sit together harmoniously. I amended, to reduce the volume of serve and make a tad drier in January 2022. The previous recipe, served in a coupe: 60ml kirschwasser, 30ml aromatised wine, and 30ml PX sherry.

Very nice cocktail - kirschwasser becomes more flavorful and enjoyable alongside the Lillet blanc and PX sherry. If you like this, you should probably try out Cherry Heering.

I like it just fine as described, but it is borderline too sweet for me. I added 1/2 oz rye and it is a more balanced cocktail to my taste.

Added cardamom bitters and it’s even better

What a perfect evening or night cap. The sherry enhances the cherry flavour of the Kirschwassen. Sophisticated and subtle.

Do try. So far, my favorite Pedro Ximènez cocktail. Whereas this sherry pairs well with other rich flavors such as walnut liqueur and Cynar, here the Kirschwasser shines. Full bodied and complex without the liquid raisin flavor. I made mine with Schladerer Schwarzwalder. Had only half enough Lillet Blanc, and Cocchi Americano made up the balance quite nicely.
