Ingredients:
1 oz Patrón Silver blanco tequila
23 oz Green Chartreuse (or alternative herbal liqueur)
23 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
23 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
14 oz Chilled water
4 drop Difford's Margarita Bitters
2 drop Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Nick & Nora glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with skewered cherry.

There are more mezcal riffs on the Last Word but tequila also works well in this classic in place of gin.

Adapted from a recipe discovered by Betsy Larey, a fellow Discerning Drinker, in 2023 at Pacci restaurant in the Kimpton Brice Hotel in Savannah, Georgia, USA.

Very good variation, closer to the original omitting the smoky Mezcal.
