5 fresh Raspberries
2/3 fl oz Ketel One Vodka
2/3 fl oz Becherovka liqueur
1/4 fl oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
2 3/4 fl oz Pilsner lager
1/3 fl oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water) 65.0°Brix
1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters

How to make

Glassware

Serve in a Rum barrel mug or pint glass

Prepare

  1. Select and pre-chill a RUM BARREL MUG OR PINT GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of lime zest twist.

Method

  1. MUDDLE raspberries in base of shaker.
  2. Add other ingredients and THROW with ice.
  3. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

  1. Express lime zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

Adapted from a recipe created in 2013 by Simone Caporale at the Artesian Bar, Langham Hotel, London, England. One of five finalists in the Difford's Guide Beer-tail Competition held 9th August 2013 in London.

Review

Raspberry fruit, herbal complexity and dry hoppy beer with a splash of zesty lime. Fabulously refreshing.

Add ice and other ingredients then THROW (strain from a height into a second shaker).

I think correct is "second shaker" not "second strainer".

One of those "the whole is better than the sum of its parts" drinks. Bravo Simone. It's even great with the poor unripe raspberries I could find, can't wait to try it in the summer with quality ones.
