Review:

Best described as being a mezcal, mastiha and pink grapefruit Margarita. It’s a great combo. Mastiha freshness with a hint of smoky mezcal is balanced by slightly acidic pink grapefruit juice.

Made with Mezcal Vigo Elote, to tone down the smokiness and emphasize the savory notes. I would definitely recommend going with a less punchy mezcal here (looking at you, Del Maguey Vida), to avoid overpowering the mastiha. That said, this was an unexpectedly delightful drink. The mezcal and mastiha have quite complimentary flavor profiles, brought together by the light acidity and bitterness from the grapefruit. One I will definitely make again.

Very unique and beautiful combination. Next time I will reduce the syrup a bit since the Mastiha liquor I had was sweeter than usual I think.

Mastiha, a must have in the bar... this one got better and better as it warmed/breathed. Five stars and a heart!
