Prepare

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare orange slice for garnish.

Method

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Tried with Averna Amaro instead of Gran Classico. Seems to work.

The pulled back Negroni proportions make sense here because the spiced rum flavors can be overpowered by the rest. A sweeter Bianco might work well here. I used Comoz de Chambrey.

Gran Classico is indeed a bitter liqueur, more so than Campari in my opinion. Definitely dominates this drink. Grapefruit twist works well with Gran Classico in lieu of orange.
