I made this with Kahlúa and slightly bitter supermarket orange juice and it worked well. Now I've tried again with freshly squeezed orange and Galliano liqueur and it doesn't! Too nutty, too sweet, too acidic. Not sure what I'm doing wrong – maybe the wrong kind of oranges?

This to me is an improved - indeed, much improved! - version of a Café Maria Theresia, only cold and oh so drinkable!

Used Borghetti and naval orange and I would either reduce the juice or use a different variety, as it lends an off-putting note up front, makes the drink seem watered down even. The aftertaste is fantastic though, so what do I know? (8 Jun 2023, 4:38a)

This was indeed a dream, oh my. Made it dairy free using coconut cream, to great success - my first float, no less! Found it slinking away as I sipped, but perhaps because I’m without a coupe and always have to use a martini glass for any such drink...does vessel shape affect movement of contents, I wonder?

Made this with a couple of substitutes, for orange I used Bayou rum Satsuma, and for the coffee I used cafe dulce which is sweeter than Kahlua, accidentally added a whole ounce of cream.

I used Kahlua, and it is literally just that. Absolutely incredible!
