Cherry (brandy) liqueur

Prepare

Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.

Prepare garnish of orange slice wheel.

Method

SHAKE first 5 ingredients with ice.

STRAIN into glass filled with crushed ice.

DRIZZLE cherry liqueur over cocktail.

Garnish

Garnish with orange slice.

I think this drink is better if you 1.5- 2X the sweetness. These specs leave it really dry if you’re expecting something like a bramble.

First sip was a bit unsure, but after I let the cocktail breathe a minutes, the flavours got much softer. It is nice and dry, and the alcohols work perfectly together.

It's termed Bramble-style due to the Bramble being the best-known cocktail served over crushed ice with a liqueur drizzled over the cocktail to bleed down through the drink.

Drier than I expected it to be looking at the ingredients list, in a very pleasant way. Equally appropriate before or after dinner (or indeed just whenever), IMO.
