Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
1 23 oz Light gold rum (1-3 year old molasses column)
12 oz Luxardo Apricot Albicocca Liqueur
12 oz Pink grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed)
12 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Syrup from Luxardo Maraschino Cherries
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of grapefruit zest twist and skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS grapefruit zest twist over cocktail and discarded.
  6. Garnish with skewered cherry.

Review:

Even with a spoon of cherry syrup, this is fruity and balanced rather than sweet with rum holding its own as the dominant flavour.

Being a daiquiri, it is not as sweet as I was expecting. Very fruit flavor forward with the kick of rum to liven things up.

I like how not sweet this cocktail is. A tiny bit of sour and bitter plus apricot make for a well balanced and complex fruity dry daiquiri. ( I used white grapefruit juice and I think somebody put Everclear in the Maraschino jar.)
