Ingredients:
1 13 oz Patrón Reposado tequila
23 oz Elderflower liqueur
12 oz Yellow Chartreuse (or génépy liqueur)
1 dash Orange Bitters by Angostura
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Nick & Nora glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

A slightly sweet tequila-laced after-dinner/late night sipper with rich herbal liqueur and elderflower liqueur. Looks like the kind of cocktail that should be stirred but it's better shaken.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created by the team at Employees Only in New York City, USA. This cocktail is named after the yellow jacket wasps that are attracted to agave being processed in Mexican distilleries during the production of tequila and mezcal.

This was lovely! Came across it in my copy of The Cocktail Seminars, where it is stirred, not shaken. Nevertheless, it definitely floats to the upper echelon of my rated list.

FWIW, I used Casamigos Reposado, and St. Germain, Yellow Chartreuse, and Fee Bros. Orange Bitters
