The light green colour comes from the sugar snap peas and their delicate flavour sits well in this floral Aviation-style cocktail.

History:

Created in 2018 by Gareth "G" Franklin, Luxardo global brand ambassador, this cocktail was originally called Howard Hughes, but given the recipe includes sugar snap peas, G thought "Oh! Snap!" more appropriate.

Difford’s Guide remains free-to-use thanks to the support of the brands in green above. Values stated for alcohol and calorie content, and number of drinks an ingredient makes should be considered approximate.

Pea and elderflower is an inspired pairing: floral and vegetal in perfect equilibrium. I chopped the sugar snap peas, muddled in a flask with a non-assertive gin (Bombay Sapphire), left for a few hours. Very unusual, and delicious.

I guess mangetout could be an ok substitute for sugar snap peas, but they’re not the same thing. Sugar snap peas are sweeter, fresher tasting, and have more of a peas flavour.

Thanks Jo. I've removed the mangetout reference.

I found that using very fresh mangetout resulted in a better flavour so use the best you can afford

Such a fun drink. Funky and fresh. Don’t get too cold or the lemon will overpower. Fresh pea and elderflower comes out more as the drink warms.
