I really like Negroni variants, and this one is excellent. Tequila and Campari are the key flavors, but the Cointreau and port are adding flavor and dimension, and the lime cordial is a subtle but important element of the flavor backbone.

A little riff I came up with and enjoyed… add in half an ounce of Mr. Black cold brew coffee liqueur and you have a Mr. Black Manhattan. I also added a dash of chocolate bitters.

Worth noting that this rum has changed it’s name now to “Hell or High Water” due to Mr. Jeremy’s ongoing legal proceedings. If anyone wants to try it and doesn’t want to associate with the old brand name, have a search for that

This is also the ratio specified in The Savoy Cocktail Book (Doctor Cocktail), with a choice of lemon or lime. Swedish Punsch is definitely my favourite new (to me) discovery of the last 12 months. Delicious stuff!

For those not a fan of Maraschino, worth a mention is the “Spring Feeling” from The Savoy Cocktail Book 1930. 1/4 lemon juice, 1/4 Green Chartreuse, 1/2 Plymouth Gin.
