Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
1 23 oz Bourbon whiskey
23 oz Southern/Louisiana-style whisky liqueur (e.g. Southern Comfort)
23 oz Strucchi Rosso Vermouth
3 dash Peychaud's or other Creole-style bitters
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

I used a fairly robust vermouth (Discarded) and upped the standard 35% Southern Comfort by a heavy 5ml. If you have a bottle of Southern Comfort lurking amongst your drinks collection it’s a nice way of using it up!

Lovely drink. I backed both the Southern Comfort and vermouth down to ¾ oz each.

Just not as good as other Manhattan's, if anything, I would say this is the furthest from a true Manhattan that I've had. I think if you hadn't had a Manhattan before it wouldn't be too bad though. Definitely worth a try.
