Ingredients:
34 oz Hayman's London Dry Gin
34 oz Pacharan liqueur
34 oz Strucchi Red Bitter (Campari-style liqueur)
34 oz Strucchi Rosso Vermouth
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of coin-sized orange zest twist.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish:

  1. EXPRESS orange zest twist over cocktail and float as garnish.

History:

Created in December 2021 thanks to a comment (on our Slow Negroni page) by Melissa Demian, a fellow Discerning Drinker. Lento is Spanish for slow, a reference to this cocktail being made with pacharán in place of sloe gin.

This one is a sneaky little delight. Sneaky because I didn’t expect to like this as much as I do. The fruity sweetness and the slight bitterness is perfectly balanced.

Very good cocktail if you use a high quality pacharan. In my opinion the bitterness should be regarded. Next time I will try less Campari and a not bitter vermouth (I used a Torino style).

I recently purchased Otaola Pacharan....did not know what it was, so thought to try. I do not know if it is representative of all Pacharan, but this one truly tastes like cough medicine. (In olden days Cough medicine is also alcohol and botanicals). I really do not care for this one straight or on ice, so have been looking for a cocktail. This recipe is pretty good...will try it with Rye as a Pacharan Boulevardier.

Sounds pretty odd to me. Pacharan is very sweet, but some people like candies ;-)
