Serve in a Martini glass

Ingredients:
1 oz Tennessee whiskey
1 oz Mandarine Napoleon liqueur
1 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
12 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Martini glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

At first, the generous dose of lemon juice crinkled my face, but a couple of sips later the nice mix of Jack D and Napoleon smoothed it back to its normal level of wrinkles — by right of age.

Just revisited this cocktail and the lemon was indeed way too sour. Now reworked and with just 30ml/1oz lemon still on the sour side but zesty and tasty.

Kjell, agreed. The notion of so much lemon juice proportionately made me wonder, but this turned out to be a very smooth and balanced drink.
