Review:

If making with a more standard strength gin then add a splash more but ideally stick to the original recipe (which calls for a third more in volume of each ingredient) and use a 50%+ alcohol by volume gin. The result is a delicious, bite-sized bittersweet aperitivo.

Absolutely agree, Simon, a delicious and bite-sized aperitivo. Punchy enough to satisfy, but with subtle and harmonious flavours. Definitely needs the discarded lemon twist.

Dove right in and drank a double...and glad I did it was delicious! Delightfully delicate and and yet definitely a negroni. Made this with Suze and export strength Beefeaters (88 proof) +20% more. Eager to try this again with the lighter flavored Salers and hope to find a bottle of Beefeaters Crown Jewel.

Now this I could make and it looks delicious. I love Suze (my wife is called Suze and I love her too!) - a half shot of Suze in a G&T is a wondrous thing.
