How to make:
SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
3/4 fl oz | Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old) |
3/4 fl oz | Hayman's London Dry Gin |
1/2 fl oz | Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) |
1/3 fl oz | Grenadine/pomegranate syrup (2:1) |
1/3 fl oz | Chilled water (omit if using wet ice) |
2 drop | Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water) (optional) |

In his book Vic prefaces this cocktail with the comment, "Nice, easy drink". It's basically a lemon Daiquiri with gin and grenadine.

HUAPALA COCKTAIL
¾ ounce light Puerto Rican rum
¾ ounce gin
½ ounce lemon juice
1 dash grenadine
Shake with ice cubes. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.

- 18.41% alc./vol. (36.82° proof)
- 14.7 grams of pure alcohol
