Ingredients:
1 12 oz Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old)
1 12 oz Galliano Espresso Coffee liqueur
2 scoop Vanilla ice cream
14 barspoon Xanthan gum (E415) optional
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of cacao power.
  3. DRY BLEND (without ice) first 3 ingredients on slow setting and then gradually add Xanthan gum while continuing to blend.
  4. Add 7oz scoop of crushed ice and BLEND some more.
  5. POUR into chilled glass.
  6. Garnish with a dusting of cacao powder over the cocktail.
  7. Serve with a straw.

Adapted from a recipe created in 1968 by Jerome Adams at Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit, Michigan. His creation proved enduring and the Hummer continues to be a popular Michigan cocktail.

Use good quality ingredients and this drink is genuinely unbelievably good. I didn't have cacao so I dusted it with Milo. Recommend the sub if you've got Milo

Fantastic cocktail. Perfect after dinner.
Sort of a rum version of a black Russian with ice cream. Smooth and balanced. Would definitely have again.
