Ingredients:
1 oz Bourbon whiskey
23 oz Ginger liqueur
14 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Honey syrup (3 parts honey to 1 water by weight)
3 drop Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Nick & Nora glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with maraschino cherry.

Review:

The name refers to this sweet 'n' sour, zesty ginger cocktail's golden hue. Bourbon provides the base, while lemon and lime balance the warming, rich ginger liqueur and honey (which replaced sugar syrup in our previous version of this recipe in January 2024).

Lovely, but volumes are a bit too low. 3 sips and it’s gone. I recommend anyone that makes this multiply all volumes by 1.5

Two sips in, and this drink is excellent. The warmth of the bourbon is brightened with the ginger and citrus, and smoothed out with the honey. A beautifully balanced cocktail.

Delicious drink! Made with only lemon juice, it reminded us of drinks we enjoyed in Japan made with pear purée. One issue is that it is dangerously easy to empty.
