Ingredients:
1 fl oz Luxardo Sour Cherry Gin
34 fl oz Italian red bitter liqueur
34 fl oz Strucchi Rosso Vermouth chilled
12 fl oz Crème de noyau liqueur
14 fl oz Cherry juice chilled
2 drop Saline solution (20g sea salt to 80g water) or merest pinch of s

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish:

  1. Garnish with skewered maraschino cherry.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created in 2025 by Ciarrai Kelly and Adam Montgomerie at Hawksmoor in Manhattan, New York City. Their original recipe is based on London dry gin and includes a barspoon of acid-adjusted cherry juice (made with 15 grams malic acid, 30 grams citric acid, and 700 grams cherry juice).

Nice take, yet it seems that the tarty deep black fruit cherry flavours don’t complement well the bitterness and herbal flavours of the juniper, wormwood (vermouth), Noyau and Campari in my opinion.
I would pair the cherry components with Cognac, Armagnac and other grape spirits.
Yet, it is nicely juicy, very juicy and interesting.
