1 oz	Rémy Martin V.S.O.P. cognac
1 oz	Grand Marnier or other cognac orange liqueur
¹⁄₂ oz	Strucchi Dry Vermouth
¹⁄₂ oz	Heering Cherry Liqueur
0.08 oz	Luxardo Maraschino liqueur

How to make:

Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
STIR all ingredients with ice.
FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

I really liked this cocktail. Saying that, next time I will be adding 1/2 shot of lemon or lime juice.

Definitely on the sweet side. Spirituous, rich and fruity with a slightly bittersweet finish. Added a dash of orange bitters as others, but still rather sweet for me; maybe cut the grand Marnier to 15ml?

Can someone give me an idea how the 1/2tsp of Lux’o contributes at all in the face of all that powerful Cherry Heering?

Sipping this right now, well one sip left. Took the advice to add a dash of orange bitters too. Let my husband make this one whilst getting ready and we both loved it, 5* for us

The nose on this cocktail is fantastic with cherry being most prevalent. It is on the sweet side upfront but quickly changes mid-palate to a slightly bitter dark fruit flavor and then has a slight bitter-sweet finish.

I followed the recipe exactly with exception of substituting the Remy Martin for a Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva. Unbelievably good, the brandy starts at the beginning then the other ingredients fill in the middle then the raisined brandy finishes off at the end. Fabulous but expensive. Not to be used very often. Anyone suggest any other decent brandies to try with this cocktail?

I found it too sweet. Generally, it could be a nice drink. Maybe I’ll add some supasawa next time to keep the appearance and still give it more balance.
