Tried variants with either maccadamia syrup or pistaccio syrup (both from Sirop de Monin) - instead of hazelnut syrup. Works pleasently well with any nutty syrup. Great after dinner cocktail.

Used vanilla vodka for another dimension, and dusted with grated nutmeg for a tiny hint of heat. This isn’t complex but it’s smooth and very pleasant, and not too sweet.
