Lime juice (freshly squeezed)

Elderflower liqueur

¹⁄₃ fl oz

Monin Lavender Syrup

How to make

Glass

Prepare

Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.

Prepare garnish of dried lavender sprig.

Method

RINSE chilled glass with violet liqueur, discard excess and set to one side.

MUDDLE blueberries in base of shaker.

Add other ingredients and SHAKE with ice.

FINE STRAIN into lavender-rinsed glass.

Garnish

Garnish with lavender sprig pegged to rim.

Even with the blueberries, really floral. For the lavender, I used a mix of 2:1 syrup with lavender tincture.

Not having lavender syrup, I mixed 5ml of crème de violette in, and used simple syrup. Lovely cocktail!

Time increased the blueberries to 7, with 2 splashes of my home-made concentrated elderflower liqueur, and he mixed the creme de violette in the cocktail
rather than just rinsing the glass--perfect!

I did a batch of three but didn't have any lavender syrup so added three drops of lavender extract and it worked perfectly. This drink is devine and very reminiscent of an Aviation.

Simon: do you know if it is intended that the excess violette be discarded after the rinse or retained. We did the former but it's probably personal preference, as always. Anyway, it's a superb Daquiri.

Instead of the lavender as garnish, we just float a rose petal or two. Very pretty and increases the floral elements from three to four.

One of the best daiquiri variants I've had in awhile. I used a 100 proof "specialty spirit" made from can and prune juices (tastes like rum).

Next time I'd add the creme de violette to the drink instead of a rinse, because why not?

Agree that is not overly sweet and very floral. Used parfait armour instead of crème violette which worked well with floral notes.

Made this today and it was a pleasant surprise not as sweet as feared. My only mishap didn’t read the recipe properly so put the crème de violette into the shaker ? then proceeded to rinsing the glasses anyway. Most pretty looking cocktail too.
