How to make

Glassware

Prepare

Select and pre-chill a COLLINS GLASS.

Prepare garnish of elderflowers or gypsophila (baby's breath) or lemon slice wheel.

Method

SHAKE first 5 ingredients with ice.

STRAIN into ice-filled glass whilst also pouring soda.

Tasty. Used Hayman's London Dry, St-Germain, & Luxardo Maraschino. Make sure you don't over-pour the Maraschino or you could easily overpower the elderflower. Also some might like reducing the sugar and/or lemon, depending on palate.

Excellent! This is so much better than I expected. I can taste both the elderflower and maraschino but they don’t overwhelm. Will definitely revisit this during the warm summer days ahead!

I was so ready to trash this and, surprise to me (sort of... specs were specific, so I knew...), this is quite possibly (for sure) the best elderflower liqueur cocktail ever.

for a collins drink it hits all the notes that are important, but to taste the elderflower and maraschino is slightly held back because of (in my opinion) an excess of lemon juice. if i were to make the drink again i would do a 2/3 ounce of lemon juice instead to allow the more subtle notes to come through.

This is a wonderful refreshing drink. This is my first cocktail with elderflower liqueur, St Germains is wonderful and ads such a nice light floral touch to this collins. Cheers to Bob and all the followers here, I'm new to the group and really enjoying trying new drinks!

Hi Jim. Welcome aboard. You'll find your bottle of elderflower liqueur is incredibly versatile. It mixes with any spirit, sherry and white wines, and white fruits (get's a bit lost with red fruits).
