1 1⁄2 oz | Hayman's Old Tom Gin |
1⁄2 oz | Yellow Chartreuse (or génépy liqueur) |
1⁄2 oz | Pallini Limoncello liqueur |
1⁄2 oz | Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) |
3 drop | Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water) |
With London dry gin, as originally, this is a good cocktail, but it's better with the extra character and richness of an old tom gin. As the name implies, lemon leads with pleasing botanical and herbal notes from the gin and monastic liqueur.
AKA: The Lemony Snicket
Adapted from a cocktail called "The Lemony Snicket Cocktail" created in 2003 by Ted "Dr. Cocktail" Haigh, who named his creation after Mr. Lemony Snicket, author of the popular children's books A Series of Unfortunate Events, after Ted was commissioned as graphic designer for the Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events movie. Ted's original boozier recipe calls for:
75ml (2½oz) Gin
15ml (½oz) Lemon juice
15ml (½oz) Limoncello liqueur
15ml (½oz) Yellow Chartreuse
One serving of Lemony contains 155 calories
