A lovely sipper but I think my Mezcal might have been a bit overpowering (Dangerous Don) - might try something less smoky

Even without the bitters it is beautiful.

This is a really nice balance of flavors. Not overpoweringly smokey, just enough sweetness, and a little floral pop from the elderflower. This has made my shortlist!

Spectacular. Just the right amount of smoke, bitter, and sweet. This cocktail suits my passion for deep, dark drinks with intense flavours.

Superbly balanced quintet. Rich Bittersweet and Boozey surround playful Elderflower and smokey Mezcal. Averna shines.

Would this work with a reposado instead of añejo?

Will produce a different cocktail but reposado would certainly work.

If you want it smokier, swap the Patron tequila for something a little rougher like the Cazadores blanco. There is enough amaro to polish it up.

Very nice sipper. Next time I’ll up the mezcal a tad just ‘cause I like a little more smoke flavor in something like this.
