Ingredients:
1 14 oz Patrón Reposado tequila
56 oz Yellow Chartreuse (or génépy liqueur)
0.42 oz Luxardo Apricot Albicocca Liqueur
56 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Been waiting to try this for a while, as I’m a huge fan of The Last Word and its many riffs. I used hquality ingredients, took my first sip, and felt a tad disappointed… but then saw the garnish. So I expressed a lemon twist over the drink and tossed it in.

This utterly TRANSFORMED the drink! I already knew that citrus zest can make a significant difference, but now I see it can make ALL the difference! Although I suppose it could also be that this drink simply grew on me after more sipping…

It's reasonably nice and tangy and herbal, but it's relatively muddy in the realm of "tangy herbal sour cocktails that may or may not be last word riffs".

This will go into my scrapbook of cocktail recipes. My kind of cocktail. Interesting, not too tart, just enough of the tequila comes through. Will make this one again. Tonight!

This is how I like my cocktails. The right amount of dry and sour for me. It would even get Peter Griffin off his Pawtucket Ale!

Yes! Too often the Chartreuse can be overpowering, but this is a perfect balance (and I just used a bigger glass, to keep it simple in a 30ml = 1 shot country!!)

Very good cocktail. With my ingredients it worked perfect with a barspoon (0,5 cl) more of the apricot brandy.

Margarita bitters do indeed work well. I've proportionately reduced the measure of each ingredient to better fit glass [30/Apr/21].
