Surprisingly this did not sit that well with me. While it's not at all bad, the association of brandy and coffee is classic after all, I prefer the clean flavours of the original finally.

I was trying to make this, but invented this "Brandy Mocha" by accident when I added Chocolate rather than Coffee Liqueur.
30ml black coffee (V60, Booths Black) 40ml brandy (Carlos I)
10ml chocolate liqueur Slice of orange flesh. Splash agave syrup.
Splash aquafaba and a few drops of Fees Foam (ie anything foamy)
All into Nutribullet. Add two ice cubes, leave one minute. Remove one cube then zizz up
Into frozen coupe glass (Martini glass too small).
Really good. Quite Christmas-y. Foamed very well. Isn’t the standard EM too coffee-y? This has Nuance.

I'm not intimately attuned to all of your tastes. I like bold, bitter, roasty, etc etc with my coffee Martinis... My recommendation when using Pierre Ferrand and Mr. Black is to reduce the sugar syrup to 7.5 ml. You will thank me.

Brilliant, Nutty Cognac makes a harmony with espresso.
Best cocktail for me followed by ramos gin fizz.

Chuck the Vodka out. This is the EM variation you need

My EM ranking is ....

1. Aged Grappa
2. Cognac
3. Brandy
4. Young grappa

I'd simply get a different drink if the vodka version is the only option.

Haven't tried with Grappa, but on the list. At the moment, I'd say Cognac, Bourbon, Jamaican Rum.

I would totally drink a Vodka EM - I just wouldn't make one for someone, unless they insisted.
