Late to the party on this one, but, this is a phenomenon drink. I was scared when I saw a full .5 oz of px with the sweet of DOM. I thought it would be too sweet. It isn't. I do, however, recommend a higher proof Bourbon (Wild Turkey 101, Old Forester 100, etc). The lemon peel & oil is essential as well. Everything you want in a nightcap.

I got a lot of tobacco notes off this, I assume via the bourbon + PX. I’m not sure this will become a favourite, but certainly flavoursome. The applejack notes are in the background, tho present. Bourbon and PX are more dominant. Was glass of the lemon twist to keep things fresh.

We didn't have Applejack Brandy but did have Calvados so we went with that. We also went with Black Walnut Bitters instead of Angostura to heighten the winter warming vibe. Absolutely delicious for us.
