Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
1 oz La Fée Parisienne absinthe
2 12 oz Chilled water
14 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare mint leaf for garnish.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with mint leaf.

Variant:

If pomegranate (grenadine) syrup is substituted for the sugar syrup this becomes a Tomate.

History:

Dr. Ordinaire perfected his recipe for absinthe in 1792 and from day one it required the addition of water and sugar to make it palatable.

Enjoyed it but agree with the higher absinthe to Water ratio !

I really like absinthe, and this a quick version of the water/sugar spoon method. Nice mix of flavours. I may do a bit more absinthe or a little less water. Even as written, very good, but you must ike absinthe.
