Excellent cocktail.

As usual I substituted dry sack for fino because that is what my poverty bar stocks. Noilly prat ombré for vermouth and divina blue cheese stuffed olives. Upped the sherry a bit because sherry.

Now I am faced with the usual martini conundrum of one not being enough and two supposedly being too many.

Excellent martini. The herbal flavours from the sherry adds to the cocktail and gives a vodka martini a slight gin flavouring. Since there are only a three ingredients, it is important to use the best you can afford. You will be rewarded.

This is a delicious combo, however I like my Martinis, for want of a better term, "damp"! Hence, I up a tad the sherry and vermouth, and depending on what I have available use manzanilla or fino. The Ambrato however is non-negotiable!

In addition to the above, I am on tenterhooks in anticipation of Tayer + Elementary reopening. Such incredibly friendly staff and deliciously innovative cocktails and food. If you haven't been yet then make a beeline to their door, you won't regret it.

Absolutely delicious - now my favourite martini (and the one sip martini is not usually enough - it is so moreish). I'm so glad to have been introduced via this cocktail to the Abrato which sings along so well with the fino and that last lovely touch of stuffed olive (stuffing the olives beforehand wets the palate in anticipation!)
