Thought it was a bit too sweet with the agave but instead of removing I tried again with an added dash of mezcal - more complex and interesting!

Lightly almond tequila, which is what I was expecting. Nothing special, fine but likely won't make again. Unfortunately all the base + amaretto variations have been underwhelming.

Had again using Anejo tequila and eliminating the agave syrup. Cocktail was more flavourful than when we use Reposado, and not as sweet. Feel the Amaretto is sweet enough for the drink. But then we do like a cocktails a bit dry.

Good combi, smooth flavour, next without or half agave though.

Tried this one with agave syrup and without. I preferred without.

Tasty, but very boozy. Split recipe between 2 glasses.

Felt like the reposado was too domineering and the drink overall was one note. Added a splash of orgeat and it improved it significantly.

I'm always looking for a way to use the orgeat syrup, and since the almond flavour is delicious here, I'll make a note in my "favourite recipes" book

I tried substituting tequila for mezcal. Adds great, smoky flavors.
