Nicely balanced. Great citrus flavors with the gin coming through at the end.
I used Monkey 47 gin which is more subtle and not as assertive.

I made this with Hayman's London Dry and I feel like it was buried by the other ingredients. Delicious, but not as complex as anticipated. Might need to try a more "assertive" gin...

Simple, delicious. How you manage to get a colour other than one that so red it is almost purple from the blood orange juice is beyond me, though

Blood oranges vary enormously in colour.

Isn't this just a Bebbo with better (imho) proportions?

Thanks, Joe. I hadn't connected the two cocktails but I've now added links between them.

What in the world! One of the best cocktails ever! The blood orange contributes this fruitiness, complexity and colour which is unbeatable. I expressed a Blood Orange Twist for this one. Absolutely a 5 star drink.

Quite tasty. Mine was a deep ruby red because the oranges were so dark (and delicious). I love the Cocktail Finder - when I have a bundle of these I can search only on ‘blood oranges’ and pop! A delightful list of things to try - and Simon, A Big Thank You for such a remarkable website.

Love it. More interesting colour and taste than Bees Knees (also nice)

Immediate love. Lovely balance and depth. And it seems like this would be great with a bit of sparkling wine. At any rate, a great base for riffing. (2 Feb 2022, 3:58p)

Nice aperitivo drink! I additionally garnished with rosemary and next time I might also try smoking the glass with the rosemary. I might also add a quarter of aperol for complexity and to balance the citrus.
