How to make:
SHAKE first 3 ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass (without ice). TOP with soda to create frothy head.
1 1/2 fl oz | Gin |
3/4 fl oz | Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) |
5/12 fl oz | Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water, 65.0°Brix) |
2 fl oz | Thomas Henry Soda Water |

Variant:
With the addition of egg white this drink becomes a Silver Fizz
With egg yolk it becomes a Golden Fizz
With a whole egg, it's a Royal Fizz
With brut sparkling wine in place of soda it's a Diamond Fizz
With orange flower water and cream it's a Ramos Gin Fizz
With a dash of green crème de menthe it's a
a Green Fizz
With equal parts sloe gin and grapefruit juice in place of gin and lemon juice it's a Purple Fizz

244. Whiskey Fiz.

(Use small bar glass.)
4 or 5 dashes of gum syrup.
Juice of ½ a lemon.
1 small wineglass of whiskey.
Fill the glass half full of shaved ice, shake up well and strain into a glass.
Fill up the glass with Seltzer water from a syphon and drink without hesitation.
245. Brandy Fiz.
This is concocted the same way as the "Whiskey Fiz, substituting brandy for whiskey.
246. Gin Fiz.
The same as Whiskey Fiz, substituting gin for whiskey.

- 1 standard drinks
- 10.16% alc./vol. (20.32° proof)
- 14.2 grams of pure alcohol
