The Cosmopolitan was originally made with citrus vodka, but it's great with unflavoured vodka or a combination of the two vodkas - my preference. For this...
+For vodka, used 1.25 shots of unflavored vodka (Absolut - my goto).
+Used pure (unsweetened) cranberry juice and added a little bit of sugar (honey - my goto sugar).
+Used Cointreau instead of De Kuyper.
-Did not add any salt.
+After pouring into the coupe glass, added four drops of orange bitters and expressed lemon peel and droped in the drink.
Very tasty.
Very nice. I substituted Cointreau for triple sec and Kettle One Orange for cintron. Nice balance and flavor. Nice to see my favorite vodka Silver Tree, vastly under appreciated !!
The best way is shaking the Cosmopolitan with some lemon zests, that way you have the lemon flavor aswell but it is more refreshing and taste more natural than citrus/lemon vodka.
A tasty cocktail. After reading the comments I added a barspoon of sugar syrup to approximate Simon’s cranberry juice.
The Cointreau really ‘sings’ in this drink.
I used Ocean Spray Cranberry Classic. 5g of sugar per 100ml, and 27% cranberry juice. The Cosmopolitan using this was delicious, perhaps a little bit on the tart side. I found it available in small 200ml cartons in a package of 3 which makes it really easy to store and use without having to buy a large bottle.
I use "Eager Naturally Sweetened Cranberry Juice Drink" with 14.1 gram sugars per 100ml. Importantly, this also contains 26% cranberry juice and 1.5% cranberry puree. Some other brands have a very low percentage of cranberry.

Just made this and I’d forgotten how much I like a Cosmo. (Thanks for the reminder Diffords)
I used straight (unsweetened) cranberry juice. Enjoyed the crisp tartness. Far cry from the Cosmo's of my youth which were uber syrupy sweet. While using a sweetened cranberry juice has it's place, I prefer the briskness and pucker of straight up cranberry.
Old old friend. Almost always use pomegranate juice instead of cranberry. Is on the very short list of Comfort Cocktails and an equally short list of Cocktails for People Who Say They Don't Like Cocktails.
