Picture the scene - it's a muggy day and pollen is rampant. You're back from a training run and what sort of cocktail do you want (once you've properly rehydrated of course)? This one. Clean, well balanced and rinses all of the pollen off the back of your throat. I've always like this particular Cosmopolitan recipe, but never more so than today.

+For vodka, used 1.25 shots of unflavored vodka (Absolut - my goto).
+Used pure (unsweetened) cranberry juice and added a little bit of sugar (honey - my goto sugar).
+Used Cointreau instead of De Kuyper.
-Did not add any salt.
+After pouring into the coupe glass, added four drops of orange bitters and expressed lemon peel and droped in the drink.
Very tasty.

Made with 30ml vodka, 40ml cranberry, 25ml lemon, 10ml dry curacao with a recipe from a cocktail school. Taste alright

I use pomegranate juice and if it needs sweetening, a little sugar syrup can be added to balance. Better than the dryness of cranberry.

Didn't have any citrus infused vodkas, so I upped the standard vodka to an ounce and used ~1/4 to 1/2 oz of Italicus. Splendid result.

Very nice. I substituted Cointreau for triple sec and Kettle One Orange for cintron. Nice balance and flavor. Nice to see my favorite vodka Silver Tree, vastly under appreciated !!

Not a fan. I find this version too sweet and to dilute. I think 45:15:30:10 ml are better proportions.

This is all to-taste, but your specs are one of my faves.

Never was a big fan if the “cosmos” that I’d had before. This recipe makes a refreshing and balanced cocktail. Now a reliable, go-to beverage. Thanks!

I just made a Cosmopolitan with bison grass vodka. It feels like an improvement over the classic version, more complexity, more depth of flavour.

My favourite Cosmo recipe! The only difference is the use of citrus vodka as in „the original” recipe.

The best way is shaking the Cosmopolitan with some lemon zests, that way you have the lemon flavor aswell but it is more refreshing and taste more natural than citrus/lemon vodka.

used vanilla vodka which added a bit of sweetness

Terrific! Most certainly going to be serving next time I have guests over for dinner. Thank you!

Perfect. Everything works well together. Flavourful, but not overly sweet. A wonderful Cosmo.

A tasty cocktail. After reading the comments I added a barspoon of sugar syrup to approximate Simon’s cranberry juice.
The Cointreau really ‘sings’ in this drink.

What's the preferred option with the cranberry juice: sweetened or unsweetened? Or is it simply personal preference?

I used Ocean Spray Cranberry Classic. 5g of sugar per 100ml, and 27% cranberry juice. The Cosmopolitan using this was delicious, perhaps a little bit on the tart side. I found it available in small 200ml cartons in a package of 3 which makes it really easy to store and use without having to buy a large bottle.

I use "Eager Naturally Sweetened Cranberry Juice Drink" with 14.1 gram sugars per 100ml. Importantly, this also contains 26% cranberry juice and 1.5% cranberry puree. Some other brands have a very low percentage of cranberry.

Just made this and I’d forgotten how much I like a Cosmo. (Thanks for the reminder Diffords)

I used straight (unsweetened) cranberry juice. Enjoyed the crisp tartness. Far cry from the Cosmo's of my youth which were uber syrupy sweet. While using a sweetened cranberry juice has it's place, I prefer the briskness and pucker of straight up cranberry.

Much more dry than I expected,i really enjoyed it and will definitely make it again

Old old friend. Almost always use pomegranate juice instead of cranberry. Is on the very short list of Comfort Cocktails and an equally short list of Cocktails for People Who Say They Don't Like Cocktails.
