Ingredients:
³⁄₄ oz	Jamaican-style overproof aged pot still rum
³⁄₄ oz	Green Chartreuse (or alternative herbal liqueur)
³⁄₄ oz	Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
³⁄₄ oz	Lime juice (freshly squeezed)

How to make:

Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
Prepare garnish of lime zest twist.
SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
Express lime zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Tried it this time with split shots S&C/Rum Fire and green Chartreuse/ Dolin génépy. Had to add a Heart!♥︎☆☆☆☆+

By the time I got to the bottom of this and it had warmed up bit it reached a perfect balance: All the best flavors of the rums, chartreuse, maraschino, lime sour plus zest; ☆☆☆☆☆♡.

Tried it with Wray and Nephew. Surprisingly peppery on the palate. It's delicious though, not Maraschino forward at all which is a surprise.

I made with S&C and thought it slightly clashed with the other flavours as they are all so powerful. Second time (not sure I needed to do immediately after!) with Wray & Nephew which worked much IMHO.

S&C and chartreuse are such strong flavours it peaked my curiosity to see them in the same drink. An initial whack of herbally notes, slight fruity and bitter then that rum funk finishes it off nicely.

Out of curiosity, is there a Last Word variation using light Cuban style rum, and if so what is it called? Is it still a Wordsworth?

Sympathize with A. Garnett. Smith & Cross matches exactly what the recipe calls for, but it just sounds WRONG for this cocktail. The grassy/floral character of Clement Rhum Blanc Agricole "Canne Blue" (100 proof!) works wonders with Chartreuse. This is what a rum-based Last Word should taste like. Last Words with equal proportions are pretty sweet for my palate so I upped the rhum agricole to 1 oz and threw a lime twist into the shaker. My wife agrees: Delightful!

I love Smith & Cross, but after trying this with Clément Blanc 40%, I must admit that it makes a much better rum-based Last Word. Thanks for the suggestion!

Used Smith & Cross. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic drink. The funkiness of the rum goes very well with the tanginess of the lime and the herbaceousness of the chartreuse...

But I think the rum is a little too much. I like my last word to be chartreuse with support from the other flavours, but this is a smith & cross daiquiri with support from the rest.

Used Bacardi Anejo 4 year old. I enjoyed this, the rum was light and smooth. However I enjoy most anything containing Green Chartreuse. Nice after dinner cocktial.

Smooth and a bit sweet. I like the idea that others had used various rums in this cocktail. Would try again with another rum. May use a bit more of lime juice to cut back on the sweetness. Great cocktail.
