Serve in a Martini glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old)
1 oz Cointreau triple sec liqueur
12 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
14 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
13 oz Chilled water omit if using wet ice
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Martini glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Created by Tony Conigliaro in 2001 at Isola, London, England. A customer requested a Daiquiri with a difference - when this was served he took one sip and exclaimed "Oh Gosh!".

I think with Cointreau is too sweet and with Merlet Triple sec, it's dryer and better with

I see the current version more as a Margarita with rum (I did use agave). Curious to try this.

I enjoyed this more than regular daiquiris and it fits me perfectly for warm summer days!

Good, but seems like it needs a little more acid. I'll try it with more lime juice next time.
