Ingredients:
2 oz Rémy Martin V.S.O.P. cognac
12 oz Strucchi Rosso Vermouth
12 oz Heering Cherry Liqueur
1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created by Jason E. Clapham at the St. Edward's MCR at Oxford, England. Originally made with Merlet Soeurs Cerises, this is "A cognac version of the gin-based Copenhagen, without the lemon. Named after the Merlet HQ." The recipe also called for Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino.

I agree with Difford's review that this one can be pretty "rich", so you'll want to get the dilution right.

With the limited number in ingredients, use the best quality you can afford. Very spirit forward and spicy. The perfect evening sipper.
