Made with Rittenhouse Rye rather than Bourbon (I prefer a ‘barely legal’ rye to bourbon for Manhattans and a Sazerac) with Averno Amaro and Carpano Antico vermouth. I added 5ml sugar syrup and 10ml Pierre Ferrand orange cucacao and really enjoyed the result.

Dash of syrup solved the lack of body but still unremarkable.

Take 2: better bourbon makes a much better drink. Duh.
