It's a lovely cocktail but we would accept a Papa Doble or a Singapore Sling over this any day. Adjusting it to our taste, we reduced the sugar syrup to 5ml and added a dash of Angostura.

And dial the cherry liqueur down to 17.5ml.

I didn't read the recipe real thorough. Used 6 dashes of grapefruit bitters. I loved it. Tamed the sweetness just right. Used Bacardi 8 and Sangue Morlacco. Very nice.

I really liked this one. For some reason it tasted a lot like chocolate toe. Maybe I'll add a few drops of chocolate bitters and reduce the sugar a little next time.

Very nice. Nicer with half the sugar.

Woooeeerrr was not sure what to expect after reading comments. I did 5 drops of GF bitters and one orange. It does have a bit of a Singapore Sling vibe in it, and as I love Singapore Slings, this is just a winner for me.

As someone who is not particularly drawn to cherry, I loved this drink.

Easy drinking. Had to riff because I didn’t have grapefruit bitters (on my long list of bitter to acquire). So used a dash of regular & a touch more grapefruit juice. Also subbed Demerara simple syrup….cause I love its depth. Will definitely do again. So enjoy grapefruit flavors over orange.

As I was not convinced the first time, I gave it a second try. This time it was delicious. My advice is to try before adding the bitters and adjust the amount depending on the bitterness of the grapefruit juice (and the cherry brandy).

Seems like the amount of syrup would be overkill, but it’s just about right. Used fresh grapefruit.
