Glass:

Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
1 12 fl oz Bourbon whiskey
1 13 fl oz Pallini Limoncello liqueur
23 fl oz Strucchi Dry Vermouth chilled
1 dash Orange Bitters by Angostura
1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish:

  1. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

It was a bit too sweet. We added some lemon juice and shook it, which was a big improvement.

Quite a Nice, sweet, cocktail. Nonetheless, I do think that a 40 ml of Limoncello against a 20 ml of Dry Vermouth version makes it more balanced.

Strange cocktail. Like old fashioned with tequila. Strange but pretty good, like swarm on sunny day. Hmmmm.

Too much limoncello. Using Villa Massa. Dropped the limoncello and upped the Noilly Prat dry for a better result. WT Rye 101 better than Maker's bourbon.

James idea of rye was great (I was out of bourbon). Still a very sweet cocktail but tastes good.

Very nice. I think I might try with a Rye next time to cut some of the sweetness and give it a kick. Agree with the comments below about the extra bitters. Also, used homemade 100proof vodka Limoncello, will try next time with my 190 proff version.

I know this drink is categorized as an aperitif, but it’s currently my favorite nightcap. Somehow I don’t have dry vermouth on hand, so have been using Noilly Prat Rouge in this drink and going heavy on the dashes of the two bitters.

When used with a less sweet limoncello, like Dillon's, this is a great alternative to a Mimosa for Sunday brunch.
