Review:

I started with a classic three equal parts Negroni, simply subbing rum for gin, but the rum was masked by the bitter liqueur so I boosted rum notes with a splash of cachaça.

This is a special drink. The nose of Cachaça is really nice against the Gran Classico (which is criminally underused) and the sweetness of the rum (I used Flor de Cana 4).

Great cocktail. Not really a big Negroni fan, but love rum. It was wonderful.
Used Tempus Fugit Gran Classico bitters. Was perfect for after-dinner.

"… but the gin was masked by" - I think this should refer to rum in your description/review.
