Recipe contains the following allergens:
Rudi Carraro, global brand ambassador for Amaro Montenegro, has his own version of the MonteNegroni consisting:
40ml Amaro Montenegro
25ml Brooklyn Gin
20ml Select Aperitivo
While the proportions of the classic Negroni are accepted as being equal parts, with some boozehounds slightly upping the gin, the proportions of this amaro-dolce riff vary tremendously. Recipes include equal parts to twice as much amaro as the other ingredients, to one-and-a-half parts gin to one part each of the other ingredients. Having tried them all (well, all I could find/come up with). I've settled on this 7:6:5 formula which is amaro-forward, yet with assertive gin notes and not being overly sweet or boozy. However, you may prefer this recipe from Montenegro:
40ml (1⅓oz) Amaro Montenegro
20ml (⅔oz) Gin
20ml (⅔oz) Rosso (sweet) Vermouth
2 drops Aromatic bitters
Made with Rosso Antico in place of rosso (sweet) vermouth.

Proving great ingredients work well almost irrespective of what one does. Used antico Rosso as the vermouth, as recommended on the tag that came on the Montenegro.
Great cocktail! I tried the wonderful Rosso Antico version tonight. Goes beautifully with Montenegro.
