How to make

Glassware

Prepare

Select and pre-chill a COLLINS GLASS.

Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

Method

SHAKE first 5 ingredients with ice.

STRAIN into an ice-filled glass.

TOP with ginger ale.

Garnish

EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Way too sweet…because I forgot the lemon juice…Well, I added the lemon juice, and wow, a nice drink. Very refreshing.

Not really much like a ginger snap biscuit but if you dial down the lemon and add some Abbott’s bitters it can be.

Very, very refreshing. Had it with a very spicy and hot soup. Went perfectly. Would be wonderful on a summer afternoon relaxing.

Seconded. I was confused when the ingredients said soda water but the instructions said ginger ale.

Thanks for spotting and bringing to my attention. I believe gaz's original recipe stipulated soda but I found it's better with ginger ale. I've just made soda and ginger ale versions to test and ginger ale wins. Hence, I've amended acordingly above.

Nice and not too sweet. Might try for a little more richness next time by replacing some of the soda water with King's Ginger.

Agreed! I've amended [16/Dec/20] the recipe above by reducing the gin from 45ml to 30ml and topping with ginger ale in place of soda. I hope gaz would approve.
