How to make

Glassware

Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Prepare

Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

STIR all ingredients with ice.
STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish

EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

Adapted from a recipe created in 2018 by Andre Tarantino at Collage Cocktail Bar, Barcelona, Spain, who says "this cocktail was inspired by the song Remind Me by Patrice Rushen." His preference is Grappa Poli as it "gives a very sharp feeling to the cocktail."

We substituted Cognac for the Grappa (at 45ml) and upped the Amaro and liqueur by 2.5ml each. Lovely for us but we do love our Cognac.

We now have a bottle of Nonino Moscato Grappa. My oh my, what a wonderful difference that makes...superb.

I made this using Amaro Montenegro because I had no Averno on hand. Not good, a bit sharp really. But I suspect the real problem was the grappa. Is there a question mark over Grappa di Moscato acquired from the bargains section of a Napoli supermarket?????

Had this for an after-dinner/evening sipper, and it was perfect. The hint of grappa is there, but it has a herbal sweetness which is perfect for the evening.
