1⁄3 oz | Cointreau triple sec liqueur |
1⁄3 oz | Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup) |
1⁄3 oz | Lime juice (freshly squeezed) |
1⁄6 oz | Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) |
1⁄6 oz | Egg white (pasteurised) or 3 dashes Fee Brothers Fee Foam cocktail foamer or Aquafaba (chickpea water) or Vegan egg white replacement |
1⁄6 oz | Chilled water |
4 drop | Difford's Margarita Bitters |

Being slightly dilute, faintly sweet, and topped with a thin foam are all essential components of a really good Trashy Margarita. This has all the good characteristics of a powdered sour-mix margarita but with fresh ingredients.
(There's no need to dry shake this cocktail as the egg white is included to round and add mouthfeel rather than to create a thick, frothy head. A good 'wet' shake should create enough foam.)

As Hunter says, "I do think there is something to be said for the 'sports bar/backyard barbeque' Margarita that we all know or hate." "Essentially tequila limeade or tequila punch."
